Dr. Maximilian Weber
Computational social scientist
I am a researcher and lecturer at the Department of Educational Science at Mainz University.
My research focuses on social stratification and text-as-data methods. In my work, various social science questions are addressed and answered through the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques. This includes the use of pre-trained deep learning language models, which currently provide the best results for many problems in the NLP domain. In addition to researching, I have been teaching quantitative methods and social stratification for several years, including the supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses.
